Allram is set in the heart of the Kamptal, an increasingly prestigious Austrian wine region that features striking steep terraced vineyards overlooking the winding river Kamp. It’s been one of the region’s premier producers for decades thanks to their exceptional vineyards in the famous crus of Heiligenstein, Gaisberg, and Renner. Today the estate is run aby Michaela Haas-Allram who took over from her parents in 1992 and her husband Erich. For the Allram family the quality of their wines begins with Mother Nature in the vineyard, so their grapes are all grown organically and sustainably, and vinified using the latest technology in the winery. This attractive Gruner is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks to emphasise the characteristic aromas of the variety and its naturally high acidity. Ripe pear, green apple and zingy citrus dominate on the nose, with the first sip revealing a vibrant freshness, elegant and light body, and a smooth texture. Hints of freshly-cut grass, ginger and orchard fruits linger on the finish which is remarkably pure and clean. Enjoy as a refreshing aperitif during the warmer months or savour alongside spicy Asian salads, creamy cheeses, fresh seafood, or sushi.
